Dogs which have completed the requirements for an AKC Championship (according to AKC records) prior to the closing date of the show at which the Sweepstakes are to be held are not eligible. \n\n\n\nCLASS DIVISIONS: Class divisions shall be the same for dogs and bitches. \n\n\n\n\n6 months and under 9 months\n\n\n\n9 months and under 12 months\n\n\n\n12 months and under 15 months\n\n\n\n15 months and under 18 months\n\n\n\n\nVeterans Sweepstakes\n\n\n\nAny purebred Golden Retriever over eight years of age which is individually registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) or the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). Entrants need not be entered in any other class. AKC and CKC Champions of Record and spayed or neutered Golden Retrievers are eligible. \n\n\n\nCLASS DIVISIONS: Class divisions shall be the same for dogs and bitches. \n\n\n\n\n8 years and under 10 years\n\n\n\n10 years and under 12 years\n\n\n\n12 years and over\n\n\n\n\nNew Procedure for 2024 National Puppy and Veteran Sweeps Armband Pickup\n\n\n\nThe rules for puppy\, veteran and Gun Dog sweeps have not changed (rules above). However to verify the rules\, we are requiring the following procedures: \n\n\n\n\nALL puppy and veteran sweepstakes entries must include a copy of the current registration dated before the closing date of the National. Registrations must be sent separately to: GRCAsweeps@gmail.com by the closing date of the National. Receipt of the registration will be confirmed by return email. Or use the online Registration Submission:\n\n\n\n\n\nSubmit AKC Registration for Sweepstakes\n\n\n\n\n\nThose entries without prior submission of the registration dated before the closing date of the National\, may bring a copy with them to pick up their armband.\n\n\n\nFor those exhibitors that wish to use a runner\, notify the ring steward before your class goes in the ring. A Professional handler may not act as a runner; their assistant may act as a runner.\n\n\n\nRing stewards will not ‘police’ any entry before\, during or following sweepstakes. Any protests will be directed to the armband table to talk with a board member (judging will not be delayed due to protests)\n\n\n\nIf a handler who is not eligible handles a dog that wins a placement\, that placement will be rescinded.
